The Randy Rhoads story has been told many times before.  But never like this.  Never has a book on him included historic audio of Randy speaking. You can read and listen as Randy’s own voice provides a diary of his life as a teacher, as a band member in Quiet Riot and as a reluctant rock star with Ozzy Osbourne. The audio portion was recorded from various interviews we did together.  We met,  bonded quickly, and as we became friends, we spoke officially and unofficially as well.  Many years ago I gave a small piece of this audio to Kevin Dubrow for his radio show, but never has the entire audio been available before Guitar Chat.   The Randy Rhoads Guitar Chat was produced with the cooperation and support of the Rhoads family. We were given rare access to family photos and new insightful interviews with Randy’s brother Kelle and sister Kathy, all of which you can access by reading and/or listening.  You will hear the voice of his mother Delores Rhoads, as she nurtures, supports and guides Randy to flower as a guitarist.  Other audio and printed participants include Kelly Garni, Randy’s childhood friend and first band-mate, Kevin Dubrow (Quiet Riot ) and Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot and later Ozzy Osbourne).  All of these family and band family members had daily interactions with Randy as both a person and a musician. To this day, they marvel at the depth of his talent and the imagination of his playing and composing.  But they were also touched by his kindness and humanity as he struggled with the fame he was neither seeking nor ready for.    Now you, the reader, can get an inside look into Randy’s thoughts and feelings as he candidly remembers the path on which he traveled to become celebrated as one of the guitar greats. And while we were giving him standing ovations, he was looking for a future beyond Ozzy. You can now listen in as Randy talks about seeking new inspiration and fresh creative input, perhaps as a session player. The Randy Rhoads Guitar Chat can be read and/or listened to, providing a unique insight into one of rock guitar’s greatest players. Contains over two hours of audio.
